Getting Ready for Algebra provides lessons that focus on the California Mathematics Content Standards recommendations for the development of integers. Integers are introduced in the fourth grade. By the end of grade 6, the operations of integers have been introduced and developed. Throughout grade 7, students experience integers in many different contexts as they develop their understanding of the rational number system. Getting Ready for Algebra contains 21 individual lessons covering integers and their operations at grade level standards from grades 4 through 7. These lessons focus on key integer concepts that are necessary for success in Algebra.
